Outlook settings for pop3


How to check POP3 settings into the outlook 2010 client:


Approach 1:

  • Open Outlook application 
  • Click the File tab > Account settingsAccount settings.
  • Here you will see the details of POP3 account if they have configured. If the POP3 settings are not configured and only exchanges settings are present then the customer needs to add the POP3 settings on the outlook server.

Approach 2:

  • Go to control-panel >Mail



  • Check whether the profile is added for pop3 or not. If it is not added then add the profile for pop3 account.
  • Click on “Manually configure server settings or additional server types”:




  • Choose Internet E-mail, then click Next.





  • Now Ask customer to enter the POP3 details, ex:



  • Now, click on “More Settings” as per given in above screenshot and go to the “Advanced” tab.  

Enter the POP3 and SMTP port (mostly it is 995 & 465 respectively) 



  • Save the settings and click on “Test Account Settings”



  • Check the Result, the result should be like this:
