Step by step resolution:

  1. "Getting error ""unable to update/rename adapter directory"" on AEUI
  2. Goto the AE_Home directory
  3. Enable the Owner column to see the Owner of these folders
  4. Checked that the workflow-adapters present in the adapter directory have an owner "Administrator" and the tomcat service is running using other users (this user also has an administrator permissions).
  5. Then we have run the tomcat service as Administrator(by command prompt) from the same user and the issue gets resolved."
